Epsom & Ewell’s Liberal Democrat MP, Helen Maguire, has criticised Royal Mail as just 82.9% of first-class deliveries in Kingston upon Thames Postcode Area were delivered on time, well below the 93% target.

It means that 10% of first-class deliveries in Kingston upon Thames were delivered late.

The local MP has now called for greater accountability to help improve parcel delivery in Epsom & Ewell. She also called on the regulator OFCOM to step in and “hold Royal Mail to account for missing their target”.

Liberal Democrat MP for Epsom & Ewell, Helen Maguire said:

“These missed targets are incredibly disappointing. People here in Epsom & Ewell rely on these deliveries. My constituents should not be forced to put up with delayed post.

“For too long Royal Mail have failed to hit their targets and people are rightly fed up of receiving parcels late. It is time OFCOM stepped in to act on these delays and hold Royal Mail to account for missing their target in Epsom & Ewell.”
