About Helen

I have a longstanding connection to the Epsom & Ewell constituency, spending much of my time in the constituency with friends, family, and running for the Epsom & Ewell Harriers Athletic Club.

On 4th July 2024, I became both the first ever female and Liberal Democrat MP for Epsom & Ewell and it is a huge honour to be your local champion.

My main priorities include:

Improving healthcare
Successive Governments have failed to deliver on a long-promised new emergency care hospital. I am committed to securing this vital facility and upgrading Epsom & St Helier district hospitals for the benefit of all local residents.

Cost-of-living
High inflation, driven by Tory economic policies, has significantly strained families. I am advocating for practical and fair measures that support those most affected and safeguard the area’s economic future.

Tackling Surrey's SEND crisis
Surrey faces the highest number of tribunals relating to special educational needs in the country. Inadequate SEND provision in Surrey has led to 1,800 children being deprived of education, many while suffering mental health struggles, and has led to soaring numbers of complaints from parents. I am campaigning for a fair deal for students, parents and schools.

Protecting our waterways
Thames Water has been allowed to pollute the Hogsmill & River Mole with minimal accountability for far too long. I am fighting for a new water regulator that better holds Thames Water to account over their chronic neglect and underinvestment in our waterways, as well as measures that stop you from paying for water bosses' failures.
